High School TranscriptsLooking for more detailed information? Click here to access the GAcollege411 Electronic Transcript Exchange document library. State law mandates certain changes to the method used to determine academic eligibility for the HOPE Scholarship. Those changes will affect the high school graduating class of 2007 and all other students who begin college after April 30, 2007. One of the major impacts of this change is that all Georgia high schools are responsible for transmitting transcript data for all graduating seniors to GSFC. GAcollege411 will provide the electronic transport mechanism that enables this process to happen. In addition to providing the ability to calculate HOPE eligibility, the electronic transport mechanism will allow students to release their transcripts to colleges to which they apply for admission through GAcollege411. While implementation of this new process is down the road, there are certain things that you need to be aware of. The following information is meant to answer some of the questions that you may have about the new process. What is the Electronic Transcript Exchange? Why is this new process being put in place? A secondary benefit of the new process is the ability for students to electronically release their transcripts to Georgia postsecondary institutions along with their admissions applications. When will my school be asked to participate? Prior to enrollment, your school will be asked to designate someone to serve as the primary administrator to handle the enrollment process, who in turn creates and manages access accounts and assigns user rights; this allows the high school to effectively control access to the school's transcript data on the GAcollege411 Electronic Transcript Exchange. What will I need to do?
